Experts don't agree.   They are constantly reforming themselves and changing how they see things.

-- Paul

Becoming an expert means being in a conversation and being agile in those conversations.

There is a culture of our discipline, and our texts come from that culture.  We need to introduce our students to those disciplinary cultures.

Our students may have experienced a lot of failure. Part of our responsibility is to show them that they can achieve.   It's not just about teaching whatever we teach, it's about encouraging the next generation of individuals in our profession.  I'm not lowering the bar, I'm not dumbing this down, but I know that they can reach the bar and help them believe that they can work for that. - Bridget

We cannot expect our students to grapple with the text like an expert.

A Gallery Walk can help students to gain wonder and curiosity about a longer reading, increasing their motivation to read.
