Developing a Signature Assignment

Goals:

  1. Design an ePortfolio Signature Assignment that supports the SLOs of your course.

  2. Using backward design techniques, plan how the Signature Assignment will be Supported throughout the course.

  3. Design a page in your personal ePortfolio specifically purposed as an introduction and support for the signature assignment.

Choose an SLO to assess.

Visualize what students can produce during your course that will create an artifact that showcases the learning outcome.

What routines will need to be a part of your course in order to support an amazing student-produced product?

What skills, experiences, assignments, and feedback from you will students need to be able to develop, evaluate and create an expression of their learning experience?

Backward Design

Create an page in your ePortfolio to become an example and information hub for that specific assignment.

As student continue to need support on the assignment, add things to the signature assignment page to support students.

Evaluate how well student work exemplifies progress toward the SLOs, PLOs, or GEOs and make changes.

Create rubrics for evaluating ePortfolio reflections and artifact connections.  Focus on how students exemplify learning.

How are the SLOs made clear to students?

How could this site improve as a resource for students?
